Someone must have been reading my mind because I often use the "Thanks" button in a similar way and wondered recently how a "Like" button would go over here. (Too much like facebook, sensitivity about it being a judgement, etc.)

I will be interested in other's views.

As for me, Hey Mikey, I "Like" it!

You found it. Apparently it appears at the end of the post, and above the poster's signature. So it might be at the bottom of some posts, and higher up for others.

Should we feel guilty when we don't hit the like button? I used the thanks button for this purpose. I think I'll continue to do that. There are a lot of buttons here for a place so sensitive to button pushing
Thanks for this!

Know how you feel.

FB is notorious for making people with mental issues feel worse.
Thanks for this!

No need to feel quilty if one doesn't hit the like button. I prob will forget to hit the like button as I forget to hit the hug and thank you button. Sometimes I read a post of mine that is 2 months old and I say to myself, "hey you didn't hit the hugs or thank you button". SO I go and hit the buttons, but nobody will see that I hit the button because the post is 2 months old...

If the books I read have any accuracy, the FBI certainly doesn't seem to be very nice and understanding, anyway.

Well, a lot of people don't get the "thanks" or "hugs" either---so how is that supportive?

It isn't, shortandcute. Some people don't even use what we already have available.

Maybe we should dump all of them.

And then we can say "Thanks!" or

"Hugs!"

or um

"Soooo, I like, like your post. Just sayin'."
Thanks for this!

Personally I disagree with the thanks system on a support site. I don't use it so I feel a little bad when I get a thanks.

If I thank someone I do it in words because I don't want it to be about button pressing I want them to know they added something to my thoughts and also I want to explain a little in what way.

But it is my choice. No one is going to make me push buttons. I do on a more debate type site where people are thick skinned but that is different.

I would push "thanks," Jimi, but given what you said, I'll say, "Thanks! I do find some buttons to be a bit impersonal." I keep thinking people haven't posted on a thread, because pushing the "thanks" button doesn't indicate that the thread has been responded to, when I check for unanswered threads.

The hugs I can understand, because sometimes you don't know what to say but you want to indicate you read the post and care. Sadly hugs creep me out but that is no reason others can't use them.
