What does this mean? I have been getting it all day when I try to display a post or a category. It appears in my Mozilla Firefox status bar (at the bottom).

I tried entering the URL but don't get anything useful.

Just curious. A search in Google didn't reveal much.

The week before last Google began offering a free Web analytics service that will replace our current in-house one. Analytics is a fancy term for Web statistics, the aggregate, anonymous statistics we collect on the website to help us determine what it is people are viewing on the site (so we can improve and offer more of those resources in the future).

These are anonymous statistics, just to drive that point home. I do not monitor or collect data on specific users (nor would I ever have any interest or time to do so!). And to reinforce our privacy policy, we share these anonymous statistics with no one. They are for our internal use only.

Thanks John -- how did you find out about the free analytics service? Is it difficult to implment? If it's free, I'd like to include it in my (professional) site.

Thanks, and FYI to any others who are interested: there is now a waiting list for a free account. You should sign up with Google to get yourself on the list (using the URL that DocJohn provided) but they'll email you when they're taking new customers.
