If someone has PM'd you a nasty PM before, and you have responded only by stating clearly that they are not to PM you again, then she PM's you again, is this considered harassment (by anyone but me)?

Besides reporting it to a moderator, what else can (and should) be done? I don't want to have to turn off my PM's to prevent this person from sending PM's to me. I only opened her last message so I could send her a response that I was reporting it to a moderator.

It's not as if I want to "out" the person publicly, as I think her previous behavior has made it very clear that she has severe anger issues and a lack of social skills. If she weren't so nasty, I would feel very sorry for her. She's raged at people in threads before, then had her responses deleted. But I also feel that I shouldn't just have to be silent in the face of someone treating me like this.

If you put someone on ignore so you don't see their posts are they still able to PM you? I didn't think so, I thought they get a message you aren't accepting PMs. There's a menu for the ignore list under your profile I think. I'm sorry she upset you.

Simply add the member to your Ignore List:

http://forums.psychcentral.com/profi...?do=ignorelist

They will not be able to send you PMs any longer.

One solution, I had to do is change the options in your profile to only allow people on your contacts list and friends to pm you. if someone is harrassing you, and is not a friend on your list, then this would eliminate the need to block anyone. The problem with blocking is that you won't see their posts either and sometimes it hinders the ability to follow a thread when there are parts of the conversation blocked out.. That's what I've found, anyway.

Now if someone becomes a problem and is on my friends list I can just remove them from the list and they can no longer pm me. But I'll still see their posts on the forum, so I won't miss part of the conversations.

Hope this helps.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
