Thanks to this site, I was introduced to Michelle Allison, the Fat Nutritionist.
The Myths Of Healthy Eating: Q&A With Nutritionist Michelle Allison | Weightless I cannot thank PsychCentral more for finding out about Michelle and then, by extension, the whole intuitive eating / normal eating / HAES (Health at Every Size) paradigm, and I know that the paradigm is not only compassionate and equitable, but is also evidence-based, unlike the weight-centered paradigm. As a result of accepting HAES and practicing what I personally call hedonistic eating but what is similar to Normal eating What is normal eating? I am completely free from Overeating. In the past, I would occasionally overeat, but not way too much. I no longer do. I do not count calories or carbs and just eat the way people eat basing food choices on what I like, on what tastes and smells and looks good. Sometimes it even includes plain steamed rice. I think I eat less because I do not restrict myself in anything, and occasionally even eat cream puffs and drink strawberry milk shakes with cream. The level of enjoyment of life has gone up. So my question to DocJohn is: if you were able to identify and promote such a gem - Michelle Allison - why are you calling the forum "Exercise and Weight Loss" rather than "Exercise and other healthy habits"?? Why weight loss? Does it really have to be there? Why not health at every size? Thanks. |

Or perhaps create a separate forum for weight loss.
The current title implies that you cannot exercise for fun, health, enjoying what your body can do, cardiovascular fitness, and a number of other goals that have nothing to do with weight loss. |
