Have you tried the suggestions in these two threads?

If so, what was the result?

Did you appear in a room? I.e. Did a room name and topic get displayed along with any users in the room?

After it handshakes and auths to the chat server you're then in a connected state. At that point you're not in a room until an automatic room change request event is fired.

Try typing /ping into the chat box and see if you get a server response.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
