Hi, I was just wondering why there isn't a forum in the personality place for OCPD? I just read an extensive article on it and I'm absolutely positive I have it and there is a difference between it, and OCD.

We've been asked this question before. The way DocJohn explained it to me was:
Quote:
We use the OCD forum to cover OCPD as well:

OCD and Trichotillomania
General discussion and support for folks with obsessive compulsive disorders...

OCD disorders includes OCPD, even if that's not initially obvious, since the two disorders are very much related.

but they're not all that same when it comes down to personality are they? OCPD severely impacts a person's ability to function in relationships. OCD doesn't keep a person from making friends and a family. Or are they closer related personalities than I realize and the similarity goes further than obsessive/compulsive behaviors.
Thanks for this!

Why is it that when I post on a thread I started, it doesn't show up under 'new posts'?

Perhaps I have a setting wrong, please let me know - thanks. I'd like to share my ideas and troubles, but the way this is set up, only I seem to be able to view this thread. I'd like to change that.

OCPD is a personality disorder, it actually shares little with OCD. So I don't get it but meh. But it's kind of the same lumping gender dysphoria in with sex stuff and thinking it is the same. I have realized if someone doesn't see a difference because she/he has never been there, then they never will.

I think your other post is on page 2 or 3 of new posts. I did see it. I think you dont see your own after you've looked at them or maybe even created them, but other people can see them alright.
Thanks for this!

thanks jimi... I'm just having a hard time going from finding other people like me only to realize they aren't. Made me feel more isolated which is kinda backwards and unreasonable

I think it's a little build it and they will come about this. By having some special categories, those people are attracted to the forum. If a category is missing or misplaced, those people will go elsewhere.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
