About 11:30 its seems the layout of the forums changed a little. Seems everything looks more spaced out with a bigger side border. Does anyone else see this. I don't think I touched anything to make the page larger. It looks like the lines separating each thread are gone.

Can't say I like it; it strikes me as ugly. Good luck on the layout changes.

I thought something changed. Not too much of a fan, but then again I never settle with change.

And last week they tell me no, I'm just going blind? Good thing I didnt mention it to my new eye doctor. And good thing I dont get excited about these things. But I will say I told you so. Dont try to sneak a programming change past me. You dont know who you're dealing with when it comes to code!!

there just doesn't seem to be enough separation in tone as well as color which makes things a lot harder for people with terrible eyesight (like myself) or are legally blind. Not too mention on a website that includes and welcomes those within the autism spectrum and those with chronic pain; it's quite bright and could trigger sensory overload, migraines, etc.

just using logical thinking.

Ummm, we haven't touched the colors displayed... we only removed some extraneous lines and spacing, and added some more white space.

Tones and contrast you should be able to manage on your computer, and to a lesser extent on your phone. Sometimes it's hard to find the correct screen to do it on, or there is more than one. Also there are different color schemes available on PC under Edit Options, even white on a black background.

I agree, a place I worked used Times New Roman font for all their official documentation. I was like, the serifs are killing me, these are very eye-unfriendly!! But they wanted to be fancy.

then the color has changed? Or shade, rather. More white space makes it difficult for eyes to focus. Especially if those extraneous lines and spacing are changed. Lines and spacing makes it a whole lot easier for those with bad eyesight and other issues to differentiate space and depth. Much harder to do when there is more white space, as you put it.

I tried fixing the contrast and it just threw off my whole computer. But I will try the other color layouts. I just think it is important for those who manage the forum to keep those of us who have difficulties in mind so there can be a blatant ease of usage.

I don't mind the extra spacing but liked the old lines for when you're looking across the page from the thread. More white space makes it look empty, but that's my opinion. I don't like change that much - I'm been eating the same cereal for 2 decades and still look forward to breakfast.

At my eye doctor's this week, I was totally surprised to see some of her screens had little segments of greenbar in them!! Greenbar being the old pale green and white striped paper we used before online was invented! What is old is new again. And I figured being an eye doctor's app, it would be the most eye-friendly, right?

Btw, I love my new eye doctor. She is the only person I've met all year who even noticed Hilary Clinton's prism eyeglasses on tv in January. It's so great when someone "gets" you.

Extra space is really a bad idea for those who read in images, like myself. It's hard to explain but I assume it is like when you display separate letters for a normal and think they can put them together in their head.

I assume the changes are made to be smartphone friendly? It looks like a smartphone setup.

I don't really mind the changes too much, but I can see how it could be troublesome for others. Without the lines separation it seems a little jumbled and hard to read for some. But no worries, change always happens, we just have to learn to adjust I guess.

The Teal style and the original one are readable for me. So I swapped. However I'm stuck in the original style now and it doesn't allow me to switch to anything else now.

If it was me, I would use the Desert style and make it high contrast but not with the lack of colors. That would be nice on the eyes.

I'll stay with the Teal style even if the colors are so not my fav, LOL. At least it is readable to me and that has to be the main thing.

Thanks jimi - for those who miss the lines, you can go to Edit Options and scroll down to Forum Skin. Try them one at a time and see which one you like - these give you back the lines that I miss. I like the lines which make it easy to look right, to see who posted last ect. Don't forget to click Save or else the change can't work. I have it on Desert Style ATM and likes the lines and definition....doesn't look so empty and boring. Spring style wasn't good or attractive.

Glad you like the Desert Style better Teen Idle - I've been fiddling with different style and find that one better. Just in case you don't know - you can darken or lighten the screen by pressing Fn and F10 to darken or Fn and F11 to lighten...they both have a sun with an up and down arrow. This helps you find the best brightness for your eyes.

It's changed again -- all the type is bigger. Can't say that I like it, but my guess is that the experimenting is not over.

Added: it seems that my browser changed, not PC. I have never seen that happen before.
