Ok, I am having more luck with OpenJournal and my server than other WebLogs, but here is my problem.

OJ.pl opens but it comes back with the error...

CGI ERROR
==========================================
Error Message : unable to open directory in auth_cleanup: d:InetPubwwwrooti-binojauth. Reason: No such file or directory
Script Location : D:\InetPub\wwwroot\cgi-bin\oj.pl
Perl Version : 5.006001
Setup File : default.cfg

Now I assigned my path to the literal 'd:\inetpub\wwwroot\cgi-bin' in the config... Is this where my problem lies? If it is, what should I point the $projdir and $mydir to?

Thanks in Advance

Tammy

OK, bit more fiddling and I got it to recognize the filepath with double slashes.

Another problem...

It made my user ID, etc, etc... Now when I try to add a post, it comes back with the error...

error: Error opening the file d:\InetPub\wwwroot\oj/index.htm () - Please check your permissions.

I have a feeling that it is the forward slash rather than the backward that is giving me the trouble... How do I resolve this one?

A little at a time... I have managed to get it switched to all forward slashes and that seems to agree with NT (rather than backslashes).

But it is still giving me the same error. Do I need to create an index.htm in the OJ directory? A copy of the template provided? I am not going to customize the set up to match my website until after I have it working.

Another note that may help to trouble shoot this. It is adding posts in the story directory (under OJ), but it isn't doing anything in the OJ directory.

So no index in the OJ directory is being created.

I created an index page. The server has all the correct permissions.

It creates entrys in the 'story' directory but it doesn't create/modify the index page in the OJ directory and it doesn't seem to create an index in the Story directory either.

hi MaquisKat,

this issue has come up before. see the following two posts at this link <A target="_blank" HREF=http://forums.grohol.com/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=software&Number=2295&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1#Post2295>http://forums.grohol.com/showthreaded.pl?Cat=&Board=software&Number=2295&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1#Post2295</A>

it sounds like a permissions issue...

I saw that so I checked my permissions first... It has the correct permissions... The odd thing is it IS creating entry pages in the Story directory (under the OJ directory) but it's not creating anything in the OJ directory.
