Hi, I am just wondering if Neurotalk could somehow be given a small header or forum at Psych Central??

I was traumatized by a scary Youtube video back in March (many psychological things could have lead up to that point), and today I believe I have just diagnosed myself with Fibromyalgia. It's taken a lot of time, effort, and questions to get to this point. With persistence and lots of Google searches, I am 99.99% positive I fit the symptoms, and have an appointment with a Neurologist soon.

I recently saw my family doctor because nerve symptoms started to make themselves more and more apparent to me in the past week. Over the past year I've experienced anxiety, panic attacks, racing heartrates, numb face, fatigue, chills, sensitivities, and muscle spasms, it's been Hell. He had difficulties diagnosing me, and said that I should see a Psychiatrist or a Neurologist, adding that "the two kind of mesh". This is troubling, because I was nearly convinced that I needed to see a Psychiatrist as well, everyone around me was pressuring me into this thought as well. It is such a sad feeling to feel.

I have noticed some people in the PTSD forum (and all across PC) suggesting concerns related to an over-sensitivity to noises and lights, and an unknown anxiety. I feel that these people might be running around completely unaware of what is really going on. Having a NeuroTalk area somewhere within PC could be the launchpad some people need. I really could have used it.

The very last section of the forum on the main page is for "Our partners" and the first link in that section is to Neurotalk (correct me if I have misundersood)

NeuroTalk is linked both from our homepage right next to this community, as well as the forum's homepage (near the bottom, where we link to related sites).

There's a Mental Health Forum, on NT. Depression, PTSD, etc are there. It is listed as a sister site to PC and vice versa!

Have you posted, over there, yet?

And here, in PC, there's the Chronic Illness Section...it's at the bottom...

I have! But it's a little on the quiet side over there. Hard to get a whole lot of talk going.

And I have to make a correction about the Fibromyalgia, I believe I am actually having Migraines. I can't decide if that is better or worse...

I agree, that the psyche forum in nt is really quiet. I find, the health forum here, and disabiliities and chronic illness forum here, is actually active. More likely to get a reply, same day, than a posting in the psche forum in nt.

You can post about your concerns down in either of those forums, and get support. It just doesn't specifically say neuro forum...
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
