I'm not that great with this kind of stuff but am getting better. I was able to figure out how to copy and paste pics on the forums but I can't figure out to do it on member's profile page in the message section.
Am I doing something wrong? thanks for the help. |

It should work both areas. are you trying to input the code manually, or are you using the yellow square button up next to the globe button?

![]() hmm.. The only other thing i can think of right now is, have you made sure that the box is checked under your settings? (not sure if this makes a difference or not ![]() ![]() Under "My Profile" http://forums.psychcentral.com/usercp.php Go to "Edit Options" And then scroll down until you see "Thread display options" Is the box checked next to "Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)" ?

To include an image in a VM, PM, or post, the file that contains the image needs to be somewhere online, not just on your own computer. If the URL of the image starts with something like "file:///C:/..." instead of "http://...", that's one indication that you're trying to link to a file on your own computer. In that case, you'll need either to find a copy of the image online or to upload it somewhere. I notice you already have images in your profile albums that you could link to, but of course your albums would fill up quickly if you put every image there that you wanted to be able to post. A picture-sharing site such as Photobucket or PicasaWeb could work for this purpose.
Some sites won't let their images appear anywhere else. If you were to link to a picture at such a site, you might end up with a "Sorry..." message, or one white pixel, or something like that in place of the image you were trying for. Even picture-sharing sites usually ask you to specify whether you want a particular picture to be public (anyone can see) or private (only you, the logged-in user). If you want to experiment (by including images in VMs to yourself, for instance, and deleting them when you're done), try linking to the same image that someone else has already posted successfully. Then, if that one works for you, you'll know you at least have the mechanics down and you can concentrate on finding the right image to use. |

Right click on any image you want... select copy image, then take it and paste it
If you don't put it into your own album here though, it might "disappear" from your message here sometime in the future. Be sure the site you use a pic from says it's okay to do that or it won't work right or last long if it does...allowing everyone to do that might overload their server or something ![]() Let me know if you still have issues, it might be a setting on your computer (like not allowing enough RAM memory to grab a pic.)

Ok, I tried going to a picture sharing site. I don't know if I did this right, but I clicked on a pic from there and went to copy it and tried to post it w/ out success.
Am I supposed to sign up with these picture sharing sites first? Also I was successful in copying and pasting images from the internet on the forums, but when I tried to do this on pm's and vm's it wouldn't work. I really appreciate the help you all have given me. There is so much computer stuff to know and 'm a bit overwhelmed at times. Thanks. |

Hey I tried posting a pic to my own vm page and it worked! I reset settings on my computer last nite so maybe now that's why it seems to be working for me.
