I don't know if this is doable or not. Would it be possible when a thread is deleted by admin for there to be something left in it's place, like when member deletes a thread, saying the thread was removed? I realize it could open the door to folks posting about the removed thread. I'm just wondering.
I just spent all sorts of time looking for a thread I posted to earlier today. Couldn't find it where I thought it was. I thought I might be looking in the wrong forum. Still couldn't find it. Then I tried searchign through things I posted and those posts are gone. Still can't find it. My assumption is the thread was removed, but I don't know for sure. ![]() |

I don't know if administration could do what you suggested, but this is what I do when I can't find a thread. If I'm interested in following up on a thread, I subscribe to it - then you can go to your subscribed threads....if its not there its been deleted. You can also go to your statistics on your profile page and see if your post in there. This will help minimize you looking all over. Hope this helps lizardlady.

Thanks Lynn. I finally realized I could look in my stats for my posts in the thread. When they weren't there I figured the thread had been deleted. Speaking as someone with memory problems and who used to disscosiate, it spooks me when my posts "disappear." Rather than assuming that the thread was pulled I jump to the conclusion that it's me. I start worrying that I'm either losing time or that I imagined the whole thread. I realize that admin leaving a statement the thread was removed might cause problems. Just thought I'd ask though. |

We try not to delete threads very often; we usually close them rather than delete them. Only when a thread is way off-topic and rancorous do we remove it.
While we have no way of automatically leaving a note about such removed threads, you're welcomed to PM any member of the community support team to inquire about a thread's removal. They will be happy to let you know the reason it was removed. If you are the thread's OP, you should already have received a notification from a moderator or administrator about why it was removed. Best, DocJohn

How do you subscribe to a thread? Some threads in "private messages" are subscribed. I must have done it one time or another... Yet I have no idea how to do it.... anyway... how do you subscribe to a thread? |

Just an FYI, sometimes threads are asked to be deleted by the OP for various reasons.
