My social group just became a forum and I'm quite excited. My question is, can I post a thread or two like the major forums that are basically "Stickys", that post ideas and rules that don't slide down and are always at the top of the page for the members and new members to see.

Yes, just PM an admin with the names of the threads you'd like to Sticky, and they'll take care of it for you.
