I just joined this site a few days ago and when I try to reply to postings I'm being told that I've reached the maximum allowable posts for that particular subject, even to areas that I haven't yet posted anything at all. Is this just a technical issue?

It's possible that you may have still been in "moderation" when you received that message. Now that you have 5+ posts approved, you shouldn't have an issue responding anymore. (I hope!
 )
