I went on to 'Edit your Details' in my profile for the first time in ages and saw that the 'yes' box had automatically been checked in the item about receiving a one-year membership to the Society for Participatory Medicine. I absolutely *do not* want to be signed up for that or anything else in which my name and email address will be disclosed to anyone.
When I checked the 'no' box and tried to reset my details, it wouldn't allow the change without my stating my location. I also absolutely do not want to disclose my location. Can anyone please help me find a way to unsubscribe to the Society for Participatory Med. without having to disclose my location? For the record, I'm very uncomfortable with being enrolled in membership in things I did not give my consent to, especially when they involve my email address. |

it's often good to use the SEARCH function, in this forum particularly, but in all of them, for a prior post or thread on the topic of interest to you. that way you get an instant answer to your questions.

The Society's membership option was listed at the time of registration with us. You can select "No" at that time.
The "Location" is a required field, but we do not police that field for your actual, geographic location. So you can put anything you want in it. DocJohn

Thanks for the link to the thread, Gus. That was helpful and you're right - I hadn't thought to check.
DocJohn, thanks for the information. I must have missed that - I'm very private about my personal information and can't imagine signing up on purpose. I'll try again to unsubscribe. Thanks for your help! |
