Would it be possible for it show on a user's profile when someone likes or hugs one of their posts?

I think that having this feedback could provide useful positive validation for posters and also alert them to when there is a potential reply on a thread they have posted on.

I've also seen it work very well on another forum.
Thanks for this!

the users name works like a link already. example it says hugs from and then a list of names. just click on the persons name in that list and it brings you to their profile automatically. the same with posts. look to the left of a post and you see who wrote the post. click on their name and it automatically takes you to their profile.

the only time the name doesnt act like a link is if you are not logged in. you can read posts even when you are not logged in but in order to reply or see profiles you have to log in.

you can see who is hugging you by looking under the posts you have wrote.

I personally dont search my profile for hugs. it already lists how many hugs and thanks I have. I do though click on statistics and find all posts I have wrote so that I can go through the ones I posted before, to check to make sure Im not missing someones reply to me. in that process of rereading my own posts I can see who has hugged me because their name appears under the post where it says hugged by or thanked by. I personally dont see any reason to clutter up my profile with a bunch of names inside the how many people thanked or hugged me statistics when I can see that information under any posts I write. to me it means more to see the hugs and thanks under posts because it tells me who found that particular post helpful to them, or that someone has actually read that post..
Thanks for this!

Your profile is already capable of letting you know when someone has replied to your post. You need to set your subscriptions to posts to get that. You can have the forums do it automatically:

Messaging and Notifications: http://forums.psychcentral.com/profi...do=editoptions

or you can do it to any thread on the thread itself by choosing from the blue menu, "Thread tools."

As for hugs, no, unfortunately we can't let you know when someone has hugged you on a thread at this time. It's a good idea, so we'll consider adding it in the future.

Best,
DocJohn

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
