Can I reply within a thread to something someone posts to me? Is that what Quick Reply is for? Do people go back and check a thread to see if more has been added? Or do I need to post a new thread to comment on something someone says?

I need to learn how to use everything.

How do you post your mood??

Thanks!

Welcome to PC!

The quick reply can be used to reply to someone else's post. It just doesn't give you as many options at the "advanced" option. For example if you want to quote something someone said in their post you would have to copy and paste to use quick reply where as the reply button would automatically quote it for you. Yes people do go back to posts they have made to check and see if other people have replied. As long as you are not going off topic (for example if a post made you think of a completely different topic you would want to make a new thread) then you can just reply to the thread and not need to make your own thread. If you want someone to know you are replying to their post specifically you can use the reply button in their post. Of you can multi quote if you want to include specifics from multiple posts. (the button looks like a piece of paper with a big quote mark and a plus sign). When you mark multiple of those then you press reply all those posts will then be listed in your reply.

There is a big section of how-tos here: Tutorials & How-To's - Forums at Psych Central
to help you get started.

I hope this helps.
Thanks for this!

to change the 'mood' icon, click on the one under your name, on the upper right, and a little drop-down menu should appear,,, click on the one you want, and refresh your page.

(yes, many of us do return to see what people have said to our posts )
if you feel you have something personal to share or want to be sure the person sees it, if they are new and don't know that all their posts can be found under "Statistics", you can click on their name in the upper left of the post, and send them a PM (or a nice Public Profile message).

best wishes~

How do you......

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
