About a month and a half ago I had a number of posts in a particular thread. I have searched and looked through my stats and kind find it for anything. I found a link in another thread to what I think was the thread but it said I did not have access to it.

I guess my question is if I am on someones ignore list does that mean I can't see the thread at all? I would have had to have been put on the ignore list after I had posted quite a few times in the thread.

It was my understanding that if you are on an ignore list you can still see and read the thread but just can't post in it.

Maybe the thread was deleted but I don't see why it would have been and don't remember that happening.

No, if you were on someone's ignore list you would still see the thread. The person who puts you on ignore simply does not see your posts. It doesn't affect you. Keep looking for the thread. I'm sure you overlooked it.

Seems like it got deleted. I wish I would have saved it all in a word doc because I spent a lot of time on that particular post. Hard to remember where and when it was exactly. Oh well.

when I have trouble finding any of my posts I have found the best and quickest way to find them is to go through my profile statistics then click on all posts this will bring me to pages and pages of posts that I have wrote over the past 5 years. maybe you can find that posting that way (in the event that it may not have gotten deleted)

to do this just click on your name. then click on statistics then click on find all posts.

also not sure but some websites the moderators keep copies of posts. maybe you can check with the moderators about what the post content was and they can help you locate it or tell you if it got deleted and why. usually they send notices to the writers of the posts that get deleted to let them know why their post got deleted.

Yeah I did that and couldn't find it. I doubt it was deleted. It was a thread that got off topic so hard to find.

It doesn't matter. It's cool.

I have notice some threads are not very long and if you look at the "end" you will see some are this years a few months back , as others have longer years on it .

Example over at the video thread you only get 2 pages then they delete the videos , to me it seems pointless to even post videos because they do not save it so whatever you post is gone forever as if you never existed .

I don't think that is right. I have my settings as high as they can go (40 posts per page) and I can go back to page #352 with posts from Dec. 2007.

Maybe I'm not understanding something?

I thought I posted this but I don't see it. Anyway it turns out I did have it in a word doc, so not lost to me. I think it was buried in a thread that got off topic. The search feature of this forum does seem awkward to me. I used advanced search and used keywords that I know were in the post but it didn't turn up. I even looked way back through my statistics. I do know the date of the post from another thread but still couldn't find it. Not sure.

The software behind this site is very very good but I think the designers lacked a bit on the search feature.

If you can install Tapatalk on a phone or tablet, it may help you to find your post by showing all your participated threads. However, Tapatalk recently implemented some horrible changes and it's no longer straightforward or pleasant to use for forum reading.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
