I'm taking a course on interpersonal violence and see now how crucial it is for people to seek and receive safe support, which often can't be done in real life for fear of retaliation.
I was thinking that anonymous support on a site like this would potentially be quite helpful for those with this experience. So I was wondering about it. Perhaps there is an area already that I haven't seen?

Great idea! This is also one of the things i've recently learned about in training to be an advocate. Big hand claps on taking such an initiative archipelago!

archipelago here in my location IPV is called domestic violence.. (someone who uses physical, sexual and emotional abuse as power over someone else) using this definition there are in my opinion many boards you can post in....
relationships and communications PTSD coping with emotions Anxiety, panic and phobia's depression survivors of abuse psychotherapy self help my point is I have read posts like you are looking to post about in just about every forum board and many social groups too. domestic violence (or in your words IPV) is something that affects many different areas of a persons life so those that I know here with thi9s problem usually post according to what areas of their life this has affected...ie if they are having relationship problems because of domestic violence they post in relationship, if they are having depressive issuees due to domestic violence they post in depression..... maybe you can get help and support by doing posting like this too...in many different boards depending on what the problem at the moment. |

While domestic violence is a form of abuse, it has its own separate issues. I didn't realize this until I got training in it. There are just a whole set of issues not covered by general areas, and yet they are characteristic of the experience. So things like safety plans, how to deal with legal or police issues, what to do with children because if it is reported a CPS report for child abuse might result, need for shelter, money, and transportation. All sorts of things as well as the psychological issues and need for support there. It seems that survivors could give support to those in active interpersonal violence situation and there could also be mutual support since one of the issues so much a feature is isolation and fear of breaking the silence.
