Well... your chili isn't dancing, your heart isn't spinning... the only one moving is the guy spinning on his head! LOL Maybe HE'S the culprit, you think? hahaha

Back to the drawing board. Maybe it's my 'puter. Is it just me...

Many browsers have a setting that stops animated graphics from being animated. You'll have to dig in your browser's advanced settings often to find it. Toolbars, virus scanners, etc. can also mess with this setting...

Nope, not yet, but with Doc John's response, now I have something to look for! Is it just me... Is it just me... I'll let you know if I find what's wrong. Jerry downloaded the google toolbar without my knowing it. Is it just me...

Deleted the Google Desktop and Toolbar and decompressed my graphics; two things I had done the last few days. I've restarted the computer twice. Nothing's changed! Is it just me... Now what??

Maybe look up "animation" in whatever firewall/security/ad blocker help file you use; a routine update you didn't even think about might have added the feature of stopping animated ads with a blocker that stops all animation (I know ZoneAlarm Pro does this).

You can stop animation at anytime by hitting the escape key; you haven't accidentally or on purpose LOL been doing that somewhere along the way?

And no one changed your Tools>options>advanced/Multimedia "Play animations in web pages"?

Ok, I've tried everything I know. Even did a system restore and nothing has changed. errr!

It seems more of the smilies are moving but not all. I can't figure it out!

The only way any of my settings would have changed is by accident. I'm the only one that knows how to change setting or even tries.

How frustrating. I'd take off any extra toolbars I had, delete them completely and turn off all protection and anything at all that could stop them one-by-one (and come straight/only to PC inbetween each one as I know that's safe; create a post here with all the supposed-to-be-moving icons) and see if it was one of them.

And/or, I'd download each of the moving smilies and see if they move down on my machine? Did you look at your registry at all, see if there's something in your caw there :-)

How about skins? Did you change skins at all? Might be some animated gifs that don't work equally with all skins?

Ok... the two things I would check is how much memory you are giving to using this program and how much quality you are asking from your computer. Both are computer settings, not site settings.

Start
Control panel

System
Advanced

Performance....
performance options:
what are your settings for as windows sees fit? for programs? for appearance?
then
advanced under performance options:
memory usage... what is your priority?
virtual memory...do you need to increase this amount to cover the programs you want to run?

I found the problem. Zone Alarm. Turn it off, refresh page, gifs animate. Turn ZA back on, gifs still animate. Only the ones already loaded though. Go to a new page and they don't. I just can't find configuration controls in ZA for this though. I'll keep at it and let you know in case anyone else has the same problem

Solved it. In privacy>ad blocker>animation (disable it

</div></font></blockquote><font class="post">

Hope that helps!
