There's something I posted in this section that I would like to get rid of. I know that I can't delete posts but does anyone know how I can at least edit them? please?
I'm paranoid

There is a short window of time that you can edit your post once past that time you can't edit a post. You might could contact one of the administration team and see if they can change it.

In the bottom left is a symbol you can click to 'report post' in the reasoning of the report you can put 'delete'. It's how I've gotten posts deleted in the past. It takes them a couple of days sometimes but it will get deleted.

I wish we were able to delete/edit our own posts whenever the need arises.

I agree.

It makes me feel anxious and disturbed when I don't have control over the content I post.

That's why it's so important that you make sure you really want to post what you post. Of course, if there is a major edit that needs making, one can report their own post and we'll do our best to get it edited for you. You can also request to have the post/thread removed by reporting it as well. Please keep in mind that we only allow a small number of posts/threads to be deleted.

If we were to allow members to edit their posts longer than the 4 hour window, we could end up with a lot of replies that may not make sense if they were made before the edit was done. Also, if you wanted to delete a post that was the beginning of a thread, it would leave all the replies out there and they wouldn't make sense either.
Thanks for this!

If I could add to what Sabby said, I've been at sites that allowed editing/deleting any time the person wanted. It lead to chaos in some cases. Things would happen like a person posting something, then going back, changing the post and swearing they never said whatever.

Yes, there have been times that I've been frustrated I couldn't go back and edit a post (usually to fix a typo), but I've found mods/admin are good about making changes when I request them.

To me, stopping to consider what I've said in a post is part of self-growth. Lord knows there have been times in my past I posted stuff that got me in trouble. It taught me to stop and think before I hit the "submit" button.
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
