Sorry this is my second post tonight in the general chat area but ok, I'm bored and I have questions! But I took a peek at my followers on my tapatalk app that I use for this forum and there's three "guests". What does that mean? Is it people that don't belong to the forum but are still reading my posts? How can someone that isn't a member able to follow be in the first place? Or am I getting this all wrong? And if one of these guests are reading this, I'm not creeped out, I'm just wondering. Hope you're enjoying my posts! Being followed on here by guests?
Thanks for this!

Tapatalk's app allows "followers" and "following" like on Twitter or YouTube. They are other Tapatalk users, not necessarily members of our community.

There does not appear to be a way to turn off this feature in Tapatalk. But you can ask over at their support forum if you want a definitive answer:

We provide features in the Service that allow you to follow other users or Sites. These features will also allow other users to follow you or follow specific threads that you make via the Service. In the event that you do not want to allow other users to follow you or your threads, please visit the Settings section in the Application to make certain information private where available. In addition, we provide a feature for you to invite your friends to use the Service.

this page is like psych centrals info before registering. you read is and when you activate the taptalk app you have to "agree" with these terms of use when you register for taptalk account. many people dont read it they just end up clicking on agree and continue making their member log in\profile and such.
Thanks for this!

if you really want to get "creeped out" , search your sign name online, and see who's repeating your posts in their blogs.

Something like this is enough to make me stop posting on this site for a while. I was already a bit embarrassed about revealing too much of myself on these forums. The last thing I need are my innermost thoughts being re-posted somewhere else. Noooo thanks.

Holy crap that is creepy. An ex of mine knew my name on a forum for eating disorders and followed me. I was so embarrassed I stopped posting. My worst fear is that my current bf sees my posts here. He's pretty tech savvy so I have a feeling he already has. This really freaks me out!

I didn't even know we could follow each other! Is it only a tapatalk thing, or all PC ?

How weird is it that I just posted this and my bf just laughed and called me "rx queen". I flipped ad asked if he's reading my things. He said "no but you do realize that stuff is public don't you?" I feel so stupid now. Hopefully others don't see rx queen (also a name I went by in instant messenger in highschool) and put it together.

For those of you freaked out by people copying your posts into blogs, I googled my username to see if anything came up. I went through seven pages of links and found nothing related to my posts here. I still think people using what someone else posted in their blog is creepy, not to mention plagiarism, but I'm not freaked out anymore.

The Internet is such that if you write anything and share it with anyone -- even in a completely "closed" community that isn't indexed by search engines -- anyone else reading it can also copy and paste it to anywhere else online. There's no technology to stop this sort of behavior, so that's why we encourage folks to ensure they choose their username wisely and not tied to any real-life clues as to your identity (if you feel it might be an issue with regards to the kind of stuff you're sharing here).

I know it may be scary, but it's the nature of sharing anything and writing it down... as long as you do so carefully, it shouldn't present any problem in your life.

I found somethings that I had posted on here. I have always been very careful about what I post but sadly I think I will be even more cautious about responding to posts.

I think they came up because there are a lot of dot coms with your name. If you change your username here, you wont generate any new links. Some of the old ones might still show up because the username change process does not change the username where it is quoted, only where it "owns" a post.
