So I assume that I am allowed to give mine.

I don't care for the extensive self thread-bumping that I see here now. I feel that it takes away from others problems. I also don't want to see it every single time I log on to PC. It makes me log off pretty much straight away without posting or offering what support I can to others.

I know. I can use the "ignore" feature. But that has it's limits.

Thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion here.

Just in case I come across as an uncaring *****, I am SPECIFICALLY referring to those posts that seem to be for discussion or awareness, as opposed to help or support.

I'm sorry you feel this way Sophiesmom. How is making the community aware of something a bad thing?

I am specifically referring to those threads that are not giving the community any new information. I am not referring to the rant or journal type threads. I appreciate those for what they are.
Thanks for helping me clarify myself.

If you feel a thread is not within our Community Guidelines you are welcome to report the thread to the Team. We will look into it and decide if it's acceptable or needs an admin action.

Other than that, the best thing you can do to make your own experience here the best it can be is to make note of which threads you are not comfortable with and stay away from them. Whether you use the ignore feature or not is completely up to you. If you wish to concentrate on threads that are asking for support, that would be great sophiesmom, we need our members to be supportive of one another.

Thanks for the comment, sabby. I know Psych Central has it's limitations and I am (as I said) aware of what I can and cannot do and what my own limitations are.

It was my own opinion and feedback, for what it's worth.

Thanks again.

You can always (try to) bully the person with whose views you disagree out of the forum, call them ignorant or whatever. It's done here way too often.

Problem solved, eh.

Or just let those who want to discuss... discuss. To some actually debating the thoughts is more precious support than clicking the hugs button.

Apparently my reading between the lines skills are failing me on this thread.
I don't see anything wrong with discussion, awareness, support, help, or doing nothing but ranting or asking for hugs. If this is a complaints section I can think of a few to post but it was easier to just block those forums

If you are unhappy here, venuss, you could take a break (as I have done in the past) when I have found that I cannot take the bullying, name-calling, or childishness.

Or, as sabby said, there is the ignore feature.

Not really George. I have trouble with communication frequently. I am misinterpreted a lot.
At this point, I don't really want to clarify.

Thanks, though!

by opinion on thread bumping ones own thread ... its not a bother to me at all. I have noticed most times when someone has bumped their own thread it usually means they are having thoughts, ideas or problems with that same issue. bumping ones own thread may be a way for them to have their say and get more suggestions opinions that can help them.

bullying...well its my understanding bullying someone just because one doesnt agree with what another has posted isnt allowed here and that we are supposed to be reporting such posts \chats to the moderators.

bullying online is called cyber bullying and most if not all USA states have laws against it, that said sometimes people with mental and physical health problems may not realize they are name calling and otherwise bullying someone.

suggestion to anyone who may find their self cyber bullying others or on the receiving end of being cyber bullied to send the post\chat in to the moderators. they can help on both sides of the coin, (cyber - bullying others and being cyber -bullied.)
