I added someone to the ignore list, but they could post on my threads nevertheless. Why?

Wandering Soul, you have to go to your profile then go to ignore list and then type their name in there and then click yes, as click yes to blocking them from posting. Ignore button is on chat, block list is also under your address book. Double check them out... Blessings
Thanks for this!

I did that, and although I couldn't see their posts on my and other threads (it says that they are on my ignore list), they could post on my threads. I wonder why. I know they shouldn't be able to do that. Thanks

Have you tried "reporting" the post and ask why the person is able to post on your thread?

I didn't report any of their posts, but I did mention it to one of the administrator in private, but he/she asked me to ask the question here.

It was correct because I couldn't see their posts.

They shouldnt be able to post on a thread you start, or to comment/quote your post in a thread you did not start. The system does not go thru and retroactively remove their old posts. If you want to email me, maybe i can help you figure it out.

Reporting the post helps us troubleshoot the issue from a technical point of view (otherwise, we don't know what post you're talking about). In your report, let us know the member on ignore as well.

Just to confirm, you put this member on ignore *before* you made the post or thread in question (not after)?

Yes of course I added them to the ignore list before they posted on my thread, because when they posted, I couldn't see their posts because they are in my ignore list. If it happens again, I'll report it.

A question: if I cannot see their posts because they're hidden because the posters are on my ignore list, how can I report them in the first place?

You could click the Report button (Ignore List) on the post before or after the one you want to report, and indicate on the form that you're reporting not that reply but the next one or the previous one -- which you can't read at this time because the author is on your ignore list.

Still another way is to go to their profile (if you're willing) and add them to your Ignore List through the "User Lists" pulldown menu there. That way you'll know you have the right member and the system will take care of the spelling automatically (sorry this screen shot is so big):

Ignore List

When you already have them on ignore, you can take them off by the same route.

Thanks, but as I said before the name is correct because their posts are hidden to me. I added the name manually, and while doing that the matches was shown up, which makes a little room for spelling mistakes if you know the name. The only problem is that they posted on my threads (while what they posted is hidden!!).
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
