Is the idea of private threads appealing to others? I'm not sure if they are possible, technically speaking, though.

Just curious as to what exactly you mean by "private"?
Private as in no one can read it ![]() Or do you mean private as in only certain members can view your threads? |

I used to be a member of another forum, it had the option of doing a private journal. Originally it was something any other member could read, but only the original poster could comment. It was a pretty good way of just getting thoughts out without having to worry about what other people thought.
A while later the same website had the same feature except the same journals were conpletely private. Only the original poster could see it. I quite liked that idea. I struggle with privCy issues so this was kind of perfect for me. |

I believe this feature already exists here. its called social grouping. you start a social group. set the social group up as invitation only and then only you and those you invite will be able to post in your group. others will be able to see but only those you invite and join will be able to post.
there is also chats, it used to be where members could make their own private chat rooms but that was changed, you have to now apply to be a chat host if approved then you get to host chats in the chat rooms this link will lead you to other links about the chat rooms. http://forums.psychcentral.com/chat-...ted-rooms.html there is also a forum for chat announcements where you can find more information about the chat rooms. |

Maybe another way you could do this is to private message the group of people you would like to consult.I haven't done this before but think it might work.
If you did this though I'd recommend asking the recipients before you include them. |
