I might have gotten the answer before but for the life of me can't remember the answer. Is there a way to get notifications of new posts on social groups? Not forums for social groups, but the groups themselves.

I find that I tend to forget about them, then remember some time later, often weeks, to look back and see if the social groups I am a member of have new posts. It would be much easier if I could get notifications of any new posts.

I agree----I made this suggestion years ago but well, as you can see it went nowhere. Last I heard, it had something to do with software limitations. Computers have limitations.

I think this is one reason most of the social groups I belong to (some are my own) have little or NO activity. Months or years go by before anyone posts anything. It can have over 300 members but only a handful post regularly.

I'd like something too, like a notification that there's been activity in one or both groups. Then, you can click on your list of groups (the ones you belong to). An icon can appear next to the one(s) that have new posts, or they can appear in boldface like my subscribed threads do when they have new activity.

Personally, since I prefer the groups to the forums anyway, I manually check them for activity, some more than others. But I end up disappointed 90% of the time.

Yes, I agree it is frustrating, but it's not something that looks like we can add in the current version of the forum software we're running... Sorry.

I forgot to say you could come up with a routine for yourself, like a reminder to check your social groups once a week, a month, whatever is easy for you to remember.

That's what I do. I check the ones that are moving along pretty well around once a week. But the ones that are in a lull I just check every few months. I don't need the disappointment.

Yeah, I've posted in some "dormant" groups to try to get them going. But it's no fun talking to myself. It's a GROUP with MANY members, not just me.
