A few days ago I received a pm from a member advertising another support platform. They only have 6 posts, which makes it seem like they posted just enough to be able to start pm'ing others. I wanted to know if this was ok before I reported them.

Their account is already suspended and the name of the platform censored. I don't know if it had anything to do with this thread but it looks like it's been taken care of since my earlier post

Advertising on PC is against community guidelines. To quote the relevant part of the Community Guidelines:

Inappropriate Content

This is, first and foremost, a self-help support community. That means if your message (post or PM) isn't about offering support to another person or asking for it, it's potentially not appropriate for our community. Specifically prohibited from our community:

• Advertisements of any sort

With this in mind, please report any such incident to a moderator (such as myself) with the Community Support Team.

I appreciate that sometimes someone might not be sure as to whether something is worth reporting; perhaps you feel like you'd be wasting someone's time. I felt a bit like that before I became a moderator here at Psych Central. However, if you suspect something is against the guidelines or even otherwise inappropriate, then by all means let us know.

The team would also ask that you please contact one of us via private message (PM) so that any incidents, possible or definite, can be handled discreetly.
