I know that if you put someone on Ignore they can no longer post to threads that you start. Does it also mean that you will not see any posts that they make on any threads?

That's right pachy, you will however see a placard that they posted, but not the post itself.
Thanks for this!

I think you have the option to see their post if you want too.

How would you do that? What is the mechanism for doing that?

I think it can only happen if they're removed from your ignore list

You could also click on the thing above their post that says "view post" which doesn't mean removing them from your ignore list but does let you see their response to something
Thanks for this!

OK, that is helpful. I have not put anyone on Ignore, so I do not know just how things work.

I have no intention of putting anyone on Ignore. It just seemed easier for me to understand, to approach the thing asking how I could do it, to see how it would look to someone who had put me on Ignore.

no you have to remove them from your ignore list to see what they have posted... here is what I see when I click into a thread and there is a post by someone on my list....

This message is hidden because (members name) is on your ignore list.

then over to the far right it says....

remove this user from ignore list

I see no option to click here to view it. just an option to remove from list.
Thanks for this!

this is interesting

I have had someone on my ignore list for the longest time (I don't now, they don't post so much so got removed)

that's how it worked for me

I am going to put someone on ignore myself, just to see if it's changed

you dont get to see their actual post and its not in their post.

think of it like if you have a lamp on a table. you dont want to see the lamp so you put a blanket over the lamp with a sign on the blanket saying lamp under blanket to see the lamp remove the blanket.

when you put some one on ignore you are hiding that persons post and before you can see the post again you have to remove them from ignore.

The ignore list is something each member controls as far as adding or subtracting members you are ignoring. See here:

Yup. This is how it works. You have the option to view posts of those you have on ignore by clicking "View Post" on the upper right-hand corner of the placard that indicates that they have posted.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
