I click on a section to go into and it takes several seconds, almost 5-6 seconds for the site to go there. Why is it so slow?

I'm betting that has more to do with your internet connection than anything else. VBulletin is very lightweight. Might also have to do with the browser you're using

I only go on psycentral on my phone (iPhone) and it's instant. Fast. Immediate. I tried it once on my kindle and it took forever. So it's either your devices or your internet. Not this site

It would be your internet connection then. I've used this site on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 with no issues. Chrome, Firefox, and Internet explorer (if I have to). Do a speed test on your browser, maybe?

Most slowdowns on any Internet site, including ours, are usually temporary and not anything we can readily do anything about. If, however, it's a consistent thing for you, it's more likely your Internet connection or your ISP's internet connection to our servers (neither of which we can do much about either).

It's not clear from your brief message if this was a temporary problem you were experiencing, or a longer-running concern. It's also not clear what part of the site you were concerned about -- the forums, the main website, a blog, or something else. Usually the more detailed information we have, as we ask in the 'Read this first' post, the better we can be of assistance.

I noticed it has been slow too. Like when I'd click on a forum, it would take a while to load, as opposed to other sites, I'd go to, which were fine. it seems better right now though.
Thanks for this!

So it's not just my computer, browser, or internet connection. It's the same thing with other people.

I'm relieved to have verification.

Sorry to hear of your concerns. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. We have thousands of active members, and only a handful who've contributed to this thread, but we understand it is a problem for some people. It may be related to the new chat rooms, hard to say though.

Sadly, we don't have any additional resources to put toward the community at the moment, so it'll just have to be something to live with for the time being.

Can you make additional resources? I can't use a site that is broken and causes me stress and frustration, but I don't want to stop using this site.

I don't know how one makes "additional resources." Resources are the staffing, time, and money it takes to upgrade things, which we did last about 2 or 3 years ago (at no cost to members).

Since the community is free and has little advertising on it, it actually costs us money to run it, or to upgrade things. But I'm against charging members to access it, so we are left with waiting until I have enough free resources from the main site to support an upgrade. It's not just the money, but the amount of effort that goes into such upgrades, which takes a lot of planning and time. It may be something we can do by year's end or in early 2018.

Yes, it is frustrating, I understand.

It could be that whatever web hosting service that PC uses could be having some type of connection issue or slowdown.

I've been having this issue too and I know my computer isn't the problem since I log on here through a custom built gaming computer that I spent over a grand to build which means that it is extremely fast.

If others are having the issue too than it is less probable to be an ISP related issue because the chances of this many people sharing the same ISP is rather low.

My money goes to either the web server (either the web server/service itself or bandwidth issue) or a DNS server somewhere between PC's connection and the internet but that's just me.

Thanks, Darkness. That makes a lot of sense.

For me if a page takes a few seconds or over a minute or so to load isnt going to upset me, at all.

PC is free to anyone needing help, support and Im grateful its around even if it slows a bit here and there.

Just my opinion.

Well, here me out. What if the person is very deeply emotional. Would you want to struggle with loading times and navigating a support site when your desperately seeking a solution?

I'm not saying I'm ungrateful, make no mistake about that, but I just want those people to be taken in to consideration.

I will say that I have experienced some slow down, off and on, on a regular basis, but for me I am 99.9% sure that it is my internet connection.

I have two internet connections, my ATT data plan on hot spot, and satellite which I have to switch between at times in order to keep sites loading. I access PC primarily with my Windows 7 laptop, with firefox 54.0.1, or my android tablet with Chrome (unsure of version).

When posting about technical issues on the website, it really is best to include all the info you can on your computer, browser and internet connection. It's hard to determine what the issue is without that information.

The community is on a different set of servers than the main PC site, so it would be helpful to know whether people are experiencing these slowdowns across all of PC, or just on the forums. Thanks.

I haven't noticed any slow down at all on the forums or on the main site.

It would be great if the OP and others who agreed with the OP could follow-up with the additional information requested. It would help us determine if there's a problem we can fix on our end or not. Thanks!

It sometimes provides me a similar issue as well. However, I imagine that it may revolve around the connection between the servers of the website to the user, rather than the device of the user itself. Currently, my ping is connecting at 16.5 ms, which is quite low, and I am additionally running on Ethernet, yet I have been experiencing some rather slow load times tonight.
