How can I block certain people on PC so that I don’t see their posts?
Some members are very hateful and it is triggering past traumas. I cannot have that.

(cut and pasted)
can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users? If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this: Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, click on their name and choose: User List, Add to Ignore List

I’m sorry you’re having this experience. I’ve had to block a person for the same reason.

Thank you for understanding. It is awful to be triggered. I am sorry that also happened to you.

you might not be the only people being shocked by the unexpected content of posts. it can be very helpful to others if you click on the little (!) at the bottom left of the post and ask a mod to determine if the post is out of compliance with site policy.

I think it's always a good reminder that everyone on here has issues they are dealing with and, generally, do not mean to cause others harm. There are definitely people who I find triggering or through experience with them that they are unhelpful to me and even judgmental, so I have them on my ignore list. It definitely helps to know I don't have to worry about those people chiming in on my conversation when their "help" doesn't really help. But I also acknowledge that it's not necessarily their fault. So I try not to take it personally and hope that others don't as well when they find they are on the "ignore" list of someone else. It's more to protect the person who needs to ignore them and not to harm the ignored.
