Hi,

I'm only posting this because I've been on PC for some time and haven't had this happen as frequently as what's been going on in the last 24 hours.

I type responses to posts, and when I hit reply it says:

Failed to open page - Safari can't open the page because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait a few minutes then try again".

But my reply is completely vanished.

I'm not sure about these technical things - but here's my best shot:

Mac OS Version 10.12.5

Sorry to hear that you're experiencing these difficulties.

Unfortunately, we can't control how a particular browser handles saving text you've typed into a browser box if it doesn't go through to our server. Some browsers have either a setting or plugin that allows you to ensure this box saves the text:

but we can't guarantee any of these methods will work with our community (although they should).

one thing that helps me is I write my reply then when I am done but before I send the finished reply in (submit reply button) I highlight what I have wrote (starting right before the first letter left click and hold down, while holding scroll down the whole text until everything is highlighted.) then I right click copy. this holds a copy of my post so that if I lose it after hitting reply all I have to do is like normal get ready to write a reply but instead of writing a whole new reply I right click and paste. this puts the original reply in the box again then I submit click submit. (reason I do this is because when I am using safari / foxfire it times out before I finish my reply which means the browser cant submit the reply because its closed/ unopened) by using high lighting, and right click copy, right click paste it saves time and goes right through ok.
Thanks for this!

I have also been getting that message a lot recently. It happens probably every 4 out of 5 attempts at replying.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
