Filled out a biography. A nice one. Lengthy, but not overly so. Saved it. Entire thing displayed just fine. Saw a typo and wanted to correct a few things. Site went crazy. Now, it cuts off half the biography. Cleared cookies, logged out, blah blah blah (Assume I know basic troubleshooting 101 from my days modding the crap out of Skyrim and Fallout 4, and have applied said steps as outlined in your sticky).

Running Firefox, same issue on Safari. Google sucks as does IE. Don't even have them on my Mac.

No matter what I do, it keeps cutting it off whereas before it displayed the full length. I don't see why there would be a cap on biography sizes anyway as most people aren't going to be as thorough as me, and even I am concise enough to keep it from being the length of a Stephen King novel.

So, either your site is messing with me, or something changed on the server side while I was working on it.

Therefore, I ask that the biography character limit be quadrupled, or that I be allowed to start a thread (anywhere you like and suggest) that is immediately locked so that I can then post the link to that thread in the biography box, thereby doing an end run around the site (and allowing me to feel like I'm getting to flip off the site server for a bit of petty revenge, haha! "Dood, it's a computer, it doesn't have feelings." "Shut up! Don't take this from me!").

Kind of aggravating to write out a nice, thorough biography, and then basically get shafted by the site coding limitations (or glitches). Help!

There is indeed a cap on everything you enter online here in the forums. The cap for bios is 7,500 characters (roughly 900-1,000 words), which should be sufficient for most people. Sorry if you hit that limit.

We don't "mess" with our members, and the software never changes (without prior notification by us in the form of an announcement).

Ah. Okay. Well, it was strange because it fully displayed everything the first time, so the glitch must have been opposite of what I was thinking happened: Me being able to get that much in must have been the glitch, rather than it suddenly deciding nope, not going to display it being the glitch.

Hmm...trying to think of workarounds...maybe start a blog through here, and post the link in the biography box? Would that be okay?

Thanks for the quick response, though! I feel a bit better actually hearing that it's just the nature of the beast, so to speak. (And I didn't actually think someone was messing with me, just the server! lol)
