On a related note, groups I mark as "read" still appear in boldface (which indicates unread, at least in a forum).

Here's the link, though it may not work unless I'm logged in or if admin is logged in as "me". Been so long since I've done this, my brain is foggy.

https://forums.psychcentral.com/groupsubscription.php

It is on my group subscription page. Right now, I haven't subscribed to any "discussion", which appears to be a new thread within the group. It's just the group itself.

It's annoying. When I view a thread in boldface, which means new activity, that bold formatting goes away once I view it. The groups should do the same.

This has been fixed.

Group leaders/hosts can now upload or set a group icon (sort of like an avatar) as well to show off their group on these kinds of pages.

I haven't checked lately, but it seems one can choose a "Category" for a group. But "general", so far, is the only option.

Are more going to be added, if not yet done? And does the group leader pick the category for their group?

We don't use categories at this time for social groups.
