I see you are new... some important info...

psych central is accessable to the whole world. what you post here can be seen by anyone who googles any mental disorder or word you may post. your avatar/ user pic can be seen because its attached to every post you post.

every computer automatically has a feature called right click copy. anyone who sees your personal picture/ photos will be able to right click copy what ever pics you use here on psych central...

even those you may choose to make a psych central album can be accessed outside of psych central just by googling someones user name and then clicking images.

my point be sure that what ever personal info, and pics you use here are things you dont care if your neighbors, friends, family and everyone in the whole world have access to...just a friendly tip and why i do not use my personal photos anywhere online. its not private.

now to answer your question.... if you still want to use your own personal photos....

go into your profile (there is a link at the top of the psych central page that says "my profile" )

click on edit avatar (its on the left and in the settings and options list)

then scroll down to where you see custom avatar

click on choose file.

that will open your own computers picture/ photos file where you can select the one you want.

Here's the link to edit your avatar:

https://forums.psychcentral.com/prof...?do=editavatar

Scroll all the way to the bottom to upload your own photo.

Here's the link to edit your profile picture:

https://forums.psychcentral.com/prof...editprofilepic

Both of these options are found under the "My Profile" option:

Hello jason: I noticed this is your first post here on PC. So... welcome to PsychCentral! I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit. May I suggest you introduce yourself over on PC's New Member Introductions forum? Here's a link:

https://forums.psychcentral.com/new-...introductions/

There's a lot of support that can be available here on PC. The more you post, & reply to other members' posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are the chat rooms where you'll be able to interact with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) So please keep posting!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
