As much as I love psych central...I feel as if I don't get much feedback if any at all....

Does anyone know of any websites that are free (or cheap) where I can get feedback quicker or by more people.... or just mental help in general even if it's just a social chat with professionals... I don't have money to actually see a doctor...

This is a very big site and my observation is that some posts get lost in the web. Most members have their dedicated forums and there usually isn’t much time to check out other forums. I usually get three or four responses (if i post), and i know it isn’t personal. Besides, I really do not post asking for advice... so there isn’t much people can say.
I hope you keep on reaching out. There are good people on PC.

I'm sorry you're not getting the feedback you want. I'm not sure why this is the case - looks like you post in a number of different forums

I notice you've only posted 74 times. Are you sure you've given PC a fair chance? As someone else mentioned, some threads/sections get more traffic than others.

Have you tried coming into the chat system? It's slow sometimes but there are usually people in there ready to chat.

Hi. There's a site called Patient.info that has fairly busy mental health forums. Can't remember if they have professionals but here's the link to the forums:https://patient.info/forums
Thanks for this!

I'd like to thank all the people who posted on this thread and say to the OP to pm me and I'll try to be a good listener. I know that AA has a system where each new person who comes in eventually settles on a more experienced member as a mentor. I don't know if such an informal system could work here.

I like this idea! Having a structure and guidelines around mentoring would be great if pc would provide this.

I am on only one or two forums but I’m on them daily. Some threads are more active than others

Thanks to everyone who has responded, It's not really that I don't feel heard...it's more of a thing where I feel that people don't really know what to say because they can't relate. Though at the same time I know that It's all just anxiety...

How do you know that we cannot relate? Not knowing what to say has so many other reasons besides not being able to relate.
I am certain a lot of people had similar experiences and/or intense emotions wrapped in severe anxiety. I hope you give it a little more chance and see that there is good support here.

I highly disagree with this statement of not or can’t relate. Have you been here for a long time? Have you grown to know the people who reside here? or have you just simply just come here thinking that everyone would have the same opinion or advice would be the same as your friends.

Check out chat once and awhile hang out there I love it there I get to meet new people with a different opinion then myself...and @Tamster is awesome admin.

Move away from box thinking that we are conformed into boxes and we are all manufactured in a plant with that fake smile, blue eyes, perfect body, and blonde hair.

so sorry anna.... i gave up posting on the forums, and deleted most of them from my viewing area.... there are still a few i glance at when i come in, but mostly i have selected a couple to frequent, and let it go at that...

remember, almost everyone who comes here is almost always needy. maybe you can reply to other people's posts ? there is some satisfaction in that~

I'm sorry you're not getting what you need here on PC. Here's a link to PsychCentral's listing of Psychology and Mental Health Resources On-Line. There is a new listing of resources for anxiety & panic, if that is an area of concern for you:

https://psychcentral.com/resources/

My best wishes to you...

You’re not going to find any type of long term psychotherapy for free online, just as you won’t find any free electricians or plumbers or architects online. Yes, you can get some free advice, but ultimately, most people benefit from a face to face or longer term psychotherapy relationship. In most communities, there are therapists or clinics that can take patients based upon what they can afford to pay. Also if you go to school or college, they have free counseling services as a part of what they offer.

Our forums are self-help, peer led forums, so no, you won’t find professionals here giving you free advice. That’s not the purpose of our community, sorry to say....

there are online sources but I don't know any that are free. I can't imagine they're worse than seeing one of those therapist guys in person. But I think the sticking point is free. I never found in person to be that big of a bonus. Or really any bonus at all or even useful
