why is it that the posts in the games section never show up if you go to view the new posts?

It is indeed the way it is setup, since we're first and foremost a mental health support community. Things not central to that focus are not emphasized in features like our "New Posts" area. Not to mention that the New Posts feature would become full of such new posts related only to games, pushing support requests and efforts off the page.

My Support Forums is the online community that was originally begun as the Psych Central Forums in 2001.
