I've been looking in new posts looking at new threads in there and every now and again it throws this message at me

Status Message This forum requires that you wait 5 seconds between searches. Please try again in 5 seconds.

I broke the forum

Maybe you are double clicking by mistake so it thinks you are searching twice?

Sometimes, even using the tapatalk app, I'll get a message that says that I must wait so many seconds between posts. Say for instance I post, what am I currently eating/drinking then good morning over in the coffeehouse forum. I think the site has some barriers, like that.

Getting a status message is the software letting you know that either you double-posted or tried to search too quickly. Every action on the forum takes a CPU cycle on the server, and so there are limits in place to stop automated indexing software (used by Google and the like) to overload our servers. If you act in a manner that appears to our software that you're not a human (e.g., trying to conduct a bunch of searches very quickly), then you get slowed down a bit... by things like this status message and the counters built in to the software.

It's nothing to be concerned about, worried, or what-not. It's just letting you know that you've hit a setting limit we've set and you need to follow whatever it's telling you in order to not hit that limit in the future.
