Where do I go to be able to copy and then paste pictures here at PC without fees and other hassles. I see you all doing it, and I seem to be at a loss. Thanks!

from the guidelines page ....

Photo Gallery

Our photo gallery is for use by registered members. Members are free to post any photograph or image that they have the intellectual property rights to. That means that members should refrain from posting copyrighted material (unless they are the author of the material) or any photo featuring individuals who have not given their expressed permission. No lewd, pornographic or obscene images are permitted. Any photo or graphic in the photo gallery found to be violating this guideline will be removed and the member warned.

and also found this on guidelines page....

Can I post other people's images and photos I found on the Internet here?

Generally, photographs and images on other sites are copyrighted and cannot be used in the forums without the express permission of the author. Please do not post images or photos from other websites without first obtaining the author's permission. Any such copyrighted material will be removed without notice.

that said I do recognize some posted pics and memes here on psych central in threads where the pics and memes have come from/ have been floating around facebook, twitter and other free / social media places. no idea if these in the threads here are copy written by people at those places.

I dont post any pics and memes I find from the internet simply because I dont know who made them so cant ask the producer of them for permission...

I can just see someone from facebook or twitter or where ever on the internet registering here and discovering their works of art/ photos memes have been swiped (copied and posted) here with out permission. (this has happened before)

better safe then sorry is my moto if I dont own the pic or photo or meme I dont post it which is following the guidelines for this site.

I have some pictures on my own computer, and sometimes upload them to an album here. Sometimes there are pictures on the Internet, with URLs, and they seem to be free and not someone's property, so I use them.

Here is an example of a picture I got from somewhere, saved it to my computer, and uploaded it to one of my albums here:

In the past, I've used free pictures downloaded from Bing. (I used to do the same thing on Goggle.) I used to try to use pictures from free-picture websites. However PC frequently blocked them saying they lacked a "security chip" (whatever that is.)

I've never been able to figure out a way to copy & paste pictures directly from the source onto a thread here on PC. I've always had to first paste them into my albums & then copy them to the thread I wanted to reply to. The only problem with that is, if I later-on delete them from my albums, they then disappear from the thread I replied to as well.

The other problem I've encountered is that I have Malwarebytes Premium on my computer. And with some pictures in particular, whenever to try to download a picture, I get a notice saying that Malwarebytes has blocked some malicious website or other. I found this to be particularly the case when I would try to download bear pictures. They seem to be rife with malicious software. Consequently I've pretty-much stopped downloading new pictures... especially bear pictures, of which I used to download quite a few.

Anyway... that's what I can tell you about the process. I'll be interested in reading other members' replies to your post. Thanks for posting this!

Someone on this forum recommended this: TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

So, I went to it, signed up and upload pictures I find mostly on Pinterest to it.

For example, here is the website.

And here, see on the left the windows titled IMG code for Forums and message boards? Copy and paste that into these message windows we type in.

Does that make sense?

I don't think you can do that.

I generally just google whatever I'm looking for ... "snow cats" for instance ... Then when the search is complete, I select image from the options header ... I then select the image I want and right click on it & select "Copy Image Address ...

Then I come back to the thread I want to post it in and click on the little picture square located at top of message board I'm typing in ... That opens a dialogue box I can then paste the image address I've copied ...

Once that's done, I select "Okay" which posts the link ... Then I insert my little smiley face thingy and Voila, Done!

Sometimes it doesn't work and I have to tweak it a little or find another pic, but most times it's a success!

Thanks for this!

Actually, on a thread I posted a while back, another member replied describing how to post a picture directly from the source into a thread in a forum here on PC without first putting it into one's albums (which is what I have always had to do.) Unfortunately the process the member described would not work for me. I'm not necessarily surprised at that though. A while back I had to do a clean install of Windows 10 on my laptop &, in the process, I lost all sorts of software. Some of that might have made it possible for me to do what the other member described. Here's a link to the thread I posted which contains that reply:

You can post pictures by copying and inserting the link ("address") to them as Pfrog said, but you cannot copy a picture and paste it here.

The staple image of commercialized psychopathology is this Danish advertisement for the antipsychotic Zyprexa:

I love that zyprexa ad. it makes me wonder if they really think people are so gullible. the two pics are of two different people taken at different locations. notice the cheeks are different, the shoulders are different, the eyebrows are different, even the wall itself is different. first picture a guy smiling second pic guy looks not so happy.

the ad and tv commercial is trying to make a point that a person starts out messed up and then takes the meds and that same person gets better emotionally.

pics didnt sell the goods for me lol
