Why does my computer keep freezing up. I can only end task and start over to get going again.

Also a few nights ago I logged off the internet (cable) and my computer logged its self back on and stuff was popping up like someone else was controling it. Hopefully this is not related to the id theft I am currently dealing with.

someone is definately in your computer...is a fresh install an option for you? what antivirus program did you install? a little info on what kind of computer you have would help...the make...cpu speed...memory...operating system...if you like try downloading a program called hijack this and pming me with the results...a word of warning though DO NOT try fixing anything this program finds or you could kill your computer...I will take a look and let you know what is bad and what isn't...there is a thing called phishing sites on the net now that canlook just like a favorite website you use...and yes even banking sites are being used...if you do use the internet for any banking look at the address bar and make sure the site is HTTPS///...if it is just HTTP///...then it is not a secure site...although it may not be a hoax site it is not secure and can be hacked...further...when you ctrl, alt, delete...go into processes and have a look at what is running...if there are funny looking entries like...arye.exe...flkrd.exe...these could be backdoors left by a cracker...if this all seems a bit much for you then go to a techsite like majorgeeks or cybertech and register for free...these sites are full of computer geeks readyto assist you...I hope I can help in anyway...please feel free to pm anytime...

Years ago mine did the same thing and the computer guy at our work told me to download the free adaware program. I've used it since.

It cleaned my computer right up and I still use it.

You can get it at several sites and it's a tried and true program.

Let us know how it goes, OK?
