Is there a way to hide the "Currently Viewing" on our profiles so that people can't see or follow around what we're looking at while online? It's kind of disturbing that other members can look at your profile and follow your activity in such a way.

Thanks,
Seesaw

Agreed. We've gone ahead and removed that information from members' profiles.

Thank you for this.

It always bugged me a little, but not enough to go into hidden/invisible mode because I thought it was nice to let people see when I was around. So, I'm glad to see this.

It already appears to be in effect. That was fast.

Thanks doc john I love this new way where members cant click on profile and know what that person is doing. used to be even those of us that were marked as invisible our activities were still being monitored (as proof there is the who visits your profile section on your profile) by those who have us on ignore and those we have on ignore. now our activities cant so readily be available to those stalking our activities.

now we get to know who visits our page without giving away our own activities. I like it that I can come in here for a quick read and not have to worry about the fact that I dont have time to post even though the op of a thread may be watching who is visiting that thread.

my point i really like this being able to read and not worry about hurting others feelings because they may know that Im reading their thread but I may not have time to reply.

Thanks.

Actually, I just noticed something.

The current activity is still visible on people's profile pages under the "Statistics" tab down in the "General information" section.

Would it be possible to remove that occurrence as well?
Thanks for this!

Sorry, we missed that occurrence. That, too, has been removed.

Hi, I thought I’d blocked my presence on the forum, as in who is logged on at any particular time, yet I still see myself listed as logged on, but with an asterisk. Not sure what to do...

nice idea, only thing I don't like about it is that when I've messaged a member who is online, I can't see now if they are viewing the private messages or not

not a big thing, when they reply, they reply. it was just really neat to see that

my friend who comes on here has trouble using the forum, so it was really useful for me to help her

Mopey, if you scroll down and look at the key to what the symbols mean in the "Who's Online" list, the asterisk means that you're invisible. It always shows yourself, but you're the only person who can see that (and the community support team).

In other words, your presence on the forums is blocked like you had hoped.

question:

if you set yourself to invisible, how long do you have to wait until you can set yourself visible again

like is it instant or is their a certain amount of time

just thought I'd ask

Im not doc john but I do use invisible.

you will always see you.

others wont see you.

there is an icon down next to the report button.
it shows green or red or gray icon near the report button.

the colors.....
green means others can see you,
red means others know you are not online
gray means you are in invisible mode and members will never know when you are online and when you are not online.

there is no time limit.
it will stay invisible until you change yourself back to not being invisible (let others see you are online)

you can change back and forth at will. no time limit in between.

you can still read and post when you have set your profile at invisible.

all it does is make it so that others do not know when you are online or not. you wont show up to anyone but yourself, in the who's online listing at the bottom of the page

not sure if you show up in the chat list while your profile is set at invisible as I rarely use chat and never looked.

thats the jist of what invisible is when Im using it.
