Please, please can we do away with the new browser layout for mobile, or at least make it optional. I've been coming here for 5 years. It's very comfortable and familiar for me. This change is really awful the column for the posts is really thin so long posts have to be pretty much read vertically. It's harder to see the different topics on the forum pages. Also my visitor message images aren't showing up for me and the profile layout is awful. Please change it back!

It was just a test. It should reset itself once you log off.

Amen to that! I am amazed that such an amazing and widely used resource such as PsychCentral still has an archaic layout and interface that was outdated in 1985.
Hopefully they can rectify this soon. I love this site, but it's frustrating that I have to use a laptop in order to have a moderately bearable user experience. __________________ Diagnosis: Bipolar I w/ Depression Medications: Lamictal Lyrica ECT - once / month |

@DocJohn , I am in agreement with others that the new mobile view look is not user friendly and is unappealing looking. I logged out of Psych Central from my mobile phone and then logged in again (based on your post above) and it still has the unappealing look it had this morning. I'll try again tomorrow. If it doesn't change back/improve and I can't find a way to restore it, I may rarely check in at Psych Central from my mobile phone. Perhaps only from my laptop, which I'm on far less frequently.
Please be careful with the look and ease of use of the website. I know from experience that perceived and clear negative changes can make people drop away. I say that from the perspective of a consumer/site user, person with a mental illness, former marketing manager at a major company, and a former group leader/facilitator for another major website similar to this one. This is friendly feedback. For the last year, Psych Central has been my favorite website for mental health-related support forums and information. You know there aren't that many good ones left of this sort, and I refuse to participate in Facebook, or similar social media groups. Reditt is not as safe of a place as Psych Central, nor does it offer the quality of information and other benefits. Last edited by Anonymous46341; Mar 26, 2019 at 01:00 PM.. |

I had the same issue, and logging out and then in again did not fix it for me either. In fact the layout was the same even as a guest user.

I just checked the "desktop site" box on my phone browser and since I always keep the PC page open in a window on my phone, I didn't have to deal with the mobile layout issue.

This format makes it harder to read. I’ve tried to log off and back in and I also tried to do it as a desktop site but it still came up with this format. And, unfortunately, I don’t have a computer at the moment so I only have internet access on my phone.

If you go to the bottom of the page on the left hand side there's a drop down menu with different themes. Select a different theme and it will go back to normal albeit with a different colour scheme.

I tried the different themes and yes it worked. But those new colour schemes hurt my eyes. Harder to read everything. Please just change it back to the original format with the original colour.

Same issue with my mobile devices, it is unusable! The right side covers the left side and nothing can be seen/read/etc.
