Hey there,

Do you know how I could change, "Legendary Wise Elder" under my name? I guess that's the title? I used to be able to do it, but not anymore.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much.

Here's what it says in the FAQ with regard to username changes:

"How can I change my username?"

"Members can change their username once and only once with no explanation or special permission needed. Simply send a private message (PM) to one of the site's administrators (not DocJohn). Member names have to conform to our community guidelines, be between 4 and 19 characters in length, and not already taken by an existing user. We allow only one username change per individual."

Here's a link to the citation:

https://psychcentralforums.com/faq.p...changeusername

You can change your title by going to "Edit Your Details" under "Your Profile" at the top of the "Your Control Panel" listing on the left-hand side of your "My Profile" page. At the top of the second box down on the "Edit Your Details" page is a box that says: "Custom User Title". That's where you can change your default title to whatever you wish to use. (You'll notice mine is: "Apparition". Hope that helps...

Thank you so much for answering my question! I actually went there and there is no "Custom User Title" option anywhere. I don't really know what's wrong.

Thanks so much for your help though! I really appreciate it.

Hmm-m-m... This is strange. Is there a section titled: "Optional Information - All information will be viewable by other forum members." ? (The section also has date-of-birth information in it.) The "Custom User Title" box should be first & the date-of-birth box should come after that. Then there's a box titled: "Home Page URL" & then one titled: "Instant Messaging".

Maybe all of this appears differently depending on what type of device one is using? That's the only explanation I can think of if the "Custom User Title" box isn't there. Hopefully someone else will have the solution. I don't know if mentioning what type of device you're using to access PC would be helpful to someone in admin. Good luck!

I vaguely remember seeing that we can only pick one custom title. On the other hand my memory sucks, so I could be wrong.

I've changed mine at least twice that I can recall & the "Custom User Title" box is still in my "Edit Your Details" section. I plan to change my title again when (& if) I reach 20,000 posts.

I also don't have the "Custom User Title" box at the described location. I vaguely recall reading that a user had to have 2000 posts before this option would be available to them and I am just shy of that. i'll let you know if it appears.

Meanwhile you could pm an admin person and ask about your case. Maybe it is just a wrong setting or something like that.

Thanks for mentioning this. I wouldn't be surprised if this were in fact the case. However I looked through the FAQ & couldn't find anything to that effect. If anyone could tell us where that information is... if it is... (along with why some members don't seem to have the "Custom User Title" box) that would be nice to know. (I'm particularly interested in this subject since I greet a lot of new members & questions such as this sometimes come my way.)

LadyShadow, not sure why your account wasn't enabled for this option given your post history and status with us.... so I went ahead and fixed this for you. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Would you mind clarifying for us (me) if there is a minimum number of posts a member needs before they can use the custom user title, what that number is, & where that information is located? I tried to find it but could not. Thank you.

Hey there DocJohn,

Thanks so much for helping me with his. It probably was a bug in the system when my account was reinstated. Thank you for solving the problem.

And Skeezyks thanks SO MUCH for taking the extra time and participating in this thread and constantly double-checking the FAQs.

Also, a special thanks to everybody else who participated.

The issue has been solved now.
