How is that people on your ignore list can quote you?

You can see ANYBODY's post, even if they are ignoring you, or you are ignoring them.

If you can see a post, you can quote it. You might not be able to post it in your ignoring/ignored's thread, but a general thread would be okay.

if you add someone too it, they can not see your posts or reply to your threads- and likewise. if someone ignores you, you can't respond to their threads- but can see their content

I imagine it also works for private messaging and visitor messages. but never tried that

the ignore feature only prevents ......you ......from seeing the persons posts of the person you have on ignore. it does not prevent them from having full use of the site.

sort of...

when ......you..........put someone on your ignore list they can still see your posts. ignore is so that ........you ..........do not see the posts of the people on your own ignore list.

example if I put you on my ignore list, I wont see your posts because I have "ignored" you, but you will still see mine. just like in real life if you ignore someone its you not paying attention to them, you not seeing them but they can still see you.

using ignore doesnt prevent the other person from fully using the site because if they try and post in your thread and discover they are being ignored by you, they can start their own thread on the same issue as long as its about something they are having the same issue with..

example say you have me on ignore. I see you are having problems with a nightmare. your post reminds me of my going through the same kind of problem. when I try and reply I find out you have me on ignore. I can make my own thread about having nightmares and how I feel about me having nightmares. I can quote your post and say in my thread something like I was reading posts and this thread reminded me of having the same problem. and I can write my post looking for help for myself about the same problems.

see you ignoring someone doesnt punish or stop them from posting on their own, just makes it so that ......you..... dont see the posts of those .....you..... have on ignore and ......you...... dont have to interact with them inside your own threads.

And quoting your stuff and commenting leaving you with no option of response. Passive aggressive imo.

The person can still leave visitor messages for you. I know this from personal experience. I'm not sure about PMs.

you can go into your settings and turn off your visitors messages. that way your friends private message you and no one on your ignore list can leave you visitors messages because your visitors message area isnt activated.

It just seems wrong that they can quote the person who has them on their ignore list. Particularly when part of their response has them acknowledging they know you are trying not to engage with them.

You can keep them off your lawn, but otherwise you have to be the president to call in the National Guard to disperse them.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to use this ignore list, but it's still confusing to me about why & how I would use it.

If you use the Search Advanced function, search for "ignore function" and select results to be returned as posts, not threads, you will probably find a treasure trove of discussion.

Tapatalk doesn’t recognize ignore function so they likely use that to quote and post and what not. They might not even know you have them on ignore

Odds are they don't know they're on an ignore list until they try to post on the ignore user's personal thread. I wish they didn't have an ignore list...

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
