A few reasons -
They deleted their post while you were writing yours. Or the post may be in a social group that you are not a member of (more likely). I run into this in the car buffs group. I think there is another reason but i forget now. |

it could be that while you were typing, the site logged you out
that's often happened to me- but I've logged back in and it's submitted the message |

I’d wait a bit and then try again.

If it is a group, you have to go to (1) your profile, (2) the social groups area, (3) request to join that particular group - which may or may not allow you to join automatically, and then (4) you can start replying to those groups.
I tried to create some groups, but I'm not sure how to manage them. Forgive me, Sarahsweets, if you tried to post in one of my groups. I suppose I could open it up to the public, but then I think the public (not just members) could view it, which I thought wouldn't be cool to others. So I left the group as members only, I think. I'm not sure what I did with that. I don't know how to invite others to a group either. I'm sorry if I created the confusion, Sarahsweets. ![]() ![]() |

![]() As far as I know, a public group is visible to all members (not guests). But I haven't used it in years or created anything either. I do know one used to be able to create a private forum if the group was private, but since they changed the format to all groups being like a forum, that may not be possible now. Back then a group needed at least 20 or 25 members and in existence at least 3 months before you could click "create forum". Public means anyone can join. Moderated means the owner of the group decided what members to have. If it's private I think you have to PM the owner of the group, then they send an invite, if they want to......But all this might have changed now. Hope your groups work out SprinkL3.

Sometime I get those messages to. Do you have anyone on ignore? That could be another reason.

The best thing to do is to ask your friend directly - via private message or their visitor's messages, if your friend has one of those set up. If not, you can also email, if that's set up under their contacts, or you can tag the person in message within that forum.
However, if it's a group thing that you need to get access to, you can also add membership to that group by going clicking on "My Profile" icon at the upper left, then on the left side you will find "Networking" and under that "Social Groups," - click on that, then you can find your friend's group by name. You can try to also find the post you wanted to respond to, but you'd have to first add yourself to that group in order to respond. You can PM me and I can help you through that process - step by step. If the person has ignored you, then you can see your friend's name but not what that person posted. |
