I have my settings set so I get told in email when I have a private message, i have suddenly stopped recieving emails about "you have a private message", has this option been taken away? please can we have it back? please with chocolate sprinkles on top?

i felt safer when we had that option cause coming on here and not knowing who messages are from before opening my message box is making me more stressed and anxious about opening my message box

simply cause i dont know if anyone is about to give me a hard time for anything in pm, i've had it happen elsewhere on a non-mental-health site where i've been bullied really, really bad in pm, sometimes the forum staff and other times other members, for example one pet forum i posted in the dog section to ask something i forget what now, but several members ganged up on me in the thread and in pm for daring to not have a dog and according to them asking anything in the dog section when i dont have a dog is not allowed, the staffs there did nothing to the bullies so i deleted myself and went, this is just one example, there are other examples as well but not being able to see who has messaged me without being online is really scaring me

visitor messages are not a problem, cause they are a bit more public, but private messages its one word against another so i do need to be able to see who has messaged me, without logging in, so i'm not making my mental health worse when i log in and see "unread private messages" and not knowing if anyone is saying anything horrible to me

https://mysupportforums.org/profile.php?do=editoptions

Under "Messaging & Notification" and then "Private Messaging," there's an option to receive an email every time someone sends you a private message. Make sure there is a checkbox next to that option and that you save your options with the button at the bottom of the page.

If that is checked already and you're still not receiving emails, please check your Spam or Junk mail folder in your email. Your email program may be sending forum emails to one of those folders instead of your Inbox. We have no control over what email programs (like Gmail or Outlook) do with our emails, unfortunately.

Ok am I understanding that admin haven't taken away the option to get emails about private messages?

The box thing in my options is ticked I checked before making this thread

I will check Gmail spam folder later, I never check it tbh cause I get too many spams

We do not take away any features of the website without first posting about it.

We do not take away any membership privileges or access without sending you a PM about it.

In short, if anything changes in our community or to functionality you once had, we would either post publicly about it notify you privately if it only affected you.

Just while I try getting it sorted out, would I be allowed to switch my pm off temporarily? Or does that mean that even admin cannot message if they are needing to speak to us? Idk .....?

You can do whatever you want with your account. We do not grant permission to each individual member who asks us if they can do something. If it's an option available to you on that screen, it is something you're welcomed to edit however you please.
