Is it possible for those of us who struggle to type the trigger code out, to have a button or something that we can select the text we need to trigger warning then trigger warning it with a button?

I confess I was so busy trying to get the trigger code thing right in a post that I forgot the red blob thing, then when I remembered i couldn't add it

I think a button would help too. We already have one for quotes. And I think several members struggle with the html brackets for trigger warnings.

I mean the red dot blob thing that means something is triggering, I got so caught up in trying to type the trigger word with the brackets round it that I forgot about the red dot

I just hope I not annoyed or angered admin by posting this

Thanks for the suggestion. However, due to the way the code works, we cannot create a button in order to use it.

Is the whole "must use both" set in stone? Or if we remember to get the code working properly in the post, like i did, but forget the red dot, is that a big problem? sorry i'm worried over it

i dont want to go wrong then end up with something scary happening on forum

forum crinimal offence not getting both in a post cause i forgot the red dot by accident cause i was too focussed on getting the trigger code thing to work without making my computer explode

i'll probably copy paste it from the FAQ just so i remember to get both in the post

i'm assuming its set in stone, the whole use-both thing and we not allowed to by accident forget

You didn't break it - up in the post, you accidently didnt do [trigger] but you did [ trigger] - an extra space. And the computer having its rules, couldn't work with it.

sorry i struggle to make secret codes in the computer work, it never understands what i'm saying to it

Nothing is broken. You forgot a slash (/) if you don't put the / it will not work. Technology is very picky that way.

If someone doesn't type the code right, I go back and edit it to fix it.

I am sorry, DocJohn, but as far as I can see, the MENTION-mechanic has (bb-code wise) the same requirement, and was integrated into the editor UI. I mean, is it different to generate two corresponding [MENTION] tags or two corresponding [TRIGGER] (I did, for readability sake, skip the corresponding closing tags), I wonder.
