I figured this would be the best place to post this.

I joined TikTok because FB videos were too horrific...but then I realized that TikTok also has really horrific, sad, and scary videos. I need help filtering out certain things I do not want to see.

All I want is happy, positive, funny, empowering, and positive videos. Nothing sad or scary or upsetting. I've never had TikTok and have no idea how to maneuver around it or adjust settings.

Please and thank you!

Like (press the heart icon) those videos you like to watch as they come up in your feed. The algorithm notes those likes and will adapt to your preferences over time (takes a little time for it to "learn" what you personally like).

Follow those influencers you really, really like (press the "+" sign on their little profile icon when a video of their shows up on your For You page). Then you can create your own personalized feed that you can view instead of the "For You" feed.

The "For You" feed is primarily algorithm-generated. The "Following" feed is made up ONLY of the people/profiles that you follow.

While I spend some brief amount of time on the For You section (the default when you start-up the app), I switch over to Following pretty quickly to keep up on the people I enjoy most on the platform. That makes my TikTok experience curated to an extent where I primarily only watch videos directly of interest to me.

(What are those interests? I like fun stuff, primarily, like tiktok dance stuff, singer songwriters, quirky facts about science and animals, cute videos about animals, and a few farmers, because they lead a pretty interesting and hard life.)
