Willow, have you tried keeping the computer plugged in while you use it? That way it does not have to run off the battery.

It sounds like the battery might be dying.

Honestly I don't get why so many people want to live their lives on their phones or laptops, as I understand your frustration of how fast batteries can drain. I've had my phone just about 2 years and even when the battery was new, it drained fast. I just expected them to be more robust, with what people do on them.
I'm not tech savvy but keeping the laptop plugged in while using it won't harm or overcharge it. I've got one from the library now, and the battery life is about 8 hours before it needs charging. It also depends on what one is doing, such as watching videos. That uses a lot of battery as well as data. I'm thinking it could be your battery or the laptop itself.... __________________ Call me "owl" for short! Hmmm....looks like some good tips in here. "Okay, enough photos. Attempting to charge it again, as well as charging up the new laptop completely, need to keep this laptop going until I got all passwords moved onto new laptop
just got peeped at again by it cause it forgot the charger was there, had to wiggle the charger to get it to remember the charger was there do computers have long term memory and short term memory like humans do? i hoping this thread doesnt get locked up like my other threads in here have, it shows to me when that happens that the staff are getting sick of willowtigger |

I can't stand the sound of ANY beeps: Smoke alarm, emergency severe weather alert, low battery...Makes my heart pound 100 beats a minute.

I was thinking it's all a conspiracy to make people spend more money. Make stuff that doesn't last long so one has to buy a new one, whether it's a battery, computer, toaster, hairdryer, ANYTHING.

cause if someone has something and it lasts them for 10 years (for example) they are going to replace it much less than if it lasted them (for example) 2 years by this i mean (my maths is not that good) but if i worked it out correctly, a company would make 5 times as much profit if they made their things go wrong after 2 years, rather than 10 years, cause replacing something every 2 years 10 divided by 2 equals 5 unless i cannot do maths for crap ? its why i hated my dell laptop back in 2007 - that one decided it was going to break at juuuuuuust over a year old - juuuuuuust as it was out of warranty - so it costed a lot to get it fixed, it would of been cheaper to replace the laptop that year, instead of getting it fixed i got that one in June 2007, it broke in June 2008 and although it got fixed, it costed us more to fix the problem than buying a new one would of costed |

I've had stuff go bad literally a day after a warranty expired. It's like it was designed to last the duration of that, and no longer.

I think I better stick with a moble phone. I have been traumatized by too many things breaking. And thank you for these comments that help me.
