For example, I posted in the pets forum about Zoey's shenanigan's and posted a picture of my pup with wet fur. It came out sideways. My pictures always turn out sideways. I don't know how to get them straight. I always upload from my computer. I read through the FAQ section but I didn't see this exact issue. I could have missed it but I tried to read the title of every post. Can someone please tell me how to not have my pictures look like this....

Hi SlumberKitty.
I'm not 100% sure why it does that, but I'm pretty certain that if you crop the photo to a square shape it will come out the right way. Best of luck.👍 Or resize the photo to a smaller size. Lovely pooch btw. __________________ "A flower falls, even though we love it; and a weed grows, even though we do not love it."- Dōgen

I remember fiddling with rotation on my phone's and laptop's photo manipulation software and it rarely worked, keeping the photo wide and short (or the opposite). I even tried rotating it 90 degrees where it looked wrong on my side, but hoped it would look OK here (tried to trick it). Again, that rarely helped. Only the squaring up helped with being reliable. Yes, occasionally a rectangular cropped photo worked out, but not sure what the magic secret was, in those rare cases. As others wrote, this suggested solution may not be all that's to it, but in life if you can make it work, who cares how you manage to do it. I learned that from years of dealing with Microsoft software glitches. __________________ Dx: Bipolar type 1 Psych Medications: * Tegretol XR (carbamazepine ER) 800 mg * Lamictal (lamotrigine) 150 mg * Seroquel XR (quetiapine ER) 600 mg I also take meds for blood pressure, cholesterol, and tachycardia. |

I'm not entirely sure what's going on... I'm not aware of why the forum software would be rotating your photo.
Regardless, you can rotate it back the right way if you'd like with an online tool like this one: LunaPic | Free Online Photo Editor | Rotate Image After uploading the photo, choose a 90 degree angle and click on the right arrow. Sorry for the inconvenience. __________________ Don't throw away your shot. |

Yes, that is my dog. Her name is Zoey. We adopted her on 10/1/22. She is a handful but she is very sweet. I never had a beagle before so it is a learning curve. She is definitely determined, but also dedicated.

Still couldn't figure it out but that's alright. I can live with sideways photos. I can do excel spreadsheets all day long but I can't get a photo to come out the correct direction. Lol.

when you take pictures with your cell phone try holding the cell phone vertical and horizontally while taking a picture of the same object. then upload those pictures and then you will know which way to hold the cell phone to get the picture you want. some cell phone camera's also have various settings on them, like filters, apertures, zooming lenses, landscape, panarama, portrait and others, brightness, and whether you want inverted, regular, negative, positive and so on. so check your settings when in camera mode. play around and you will find the right settings for you and the kinds of photos you want and how you want your photos to look like. |

You might want to see if this makes a difference:
------------------------------ Edited to add: Revisiting what I said earlier, it looks as if following my suggestion might result in a picture that's upside down instead of sideways. In that case you'd still have learned which way you needed to turn your phone, only it would take an extra step. I apologize for any inconvenience on the way there. . |
