There is no option to turn off thanks and hugs.

If you're accessing our forums via the Tapatalk app, you do not see these thanks and hugs reactions.

Thanks for me isn’t a bad thing because I’m sometimes in need of comfort and I don’t mind giving thanks . Some people just need a hug or something good for their day. Thank ya there are people who respect me enough to say thank you .

There is no hug button on Tapatalk, at least not the free version I use once in awhile. The "thanks" shows up as a heart to click and I see the number of them, such as a heart with a 2 next to it. So that post got 2 thanks, but I don't think I can see who gave them.

If you give a thanks, it appears in another color than thanks from other members.

I haven't used them it in awhile because it's slow and I don't have a strong enough connection to make it load faster.

Double edged sword for me. It's great to see them but very disappointing when nobody gives them on a post similar to what someone else said, but that member got all the hugs and thanks. Honestly I have mixed feelings about it, since I see many posts with many thanks/hugs and others with nothing.

Its pretty much who the member is vs what the post is about even if its similar.

Kinda like in highschool how one person tells a joke and no one laughs and then the cool kid tells the same joke and everyone laughs. It was who was telling the joke. Not the joke itself.

It's embarrassing to have to ask for something others get all the time. It's like fishing for a compliment. I don't want them there because I asked, it's not "real" or sincere then. A thread about me in Kudos has no more posts/nice images but other threads do. Post my sobbing emoji there? Then get them?

A few years ago, a new poster asked me if i wanted to be hug buddies - the deal was to hug and thank every time the other person posted. I would never have thought of such a deal. It also seemed a little fake to me. Kinda like the online equivalent of never going to bed angry. But i was a neglected child, and she grew up in a much healthier environment. For me, asking for something was asking for trouble, period. But maybe it doesnt have to be that way.

Plus, i was quoting the bible! Are you contradicting the bible? I mean, im an atheist and all kinds of other bad things, but how can you argue with "ask and you shall receive"? Is that allowed?! Youre blowing my mind! It feels like disagreeing with gravity! Or sunshine.

ETA - And i wonder how i end up on the naughty step so often? Im sorry, i dont mean to diminish your feelings. It IS difficult navigating one's way here.

For me, it depends whether I'm on my old fart of a phone or not, less and less is working on the old fartphone (not just forum related but apps and stuff as well, so I know its my phone)

I try to hug and thank as much as I can, unless I have a reason to not interact with a particular person.

I was mainly reffering to myself. Not you. I rarely get any hugs the way some other members do. And I know its me.
