The same two posters show up almost every time I visit a good friend's profile page, on their ''friend'' list. And this friend has well over 100 friends. I do not wish to see those two particular posters nearly every time. They are not even active members.

I doubt if anything can be done about this

I just checked again. For once, those 2 didn't show up.

Just a rant. Feel free to ignore or delete.

Even when people are on ignored lists, they still show up on profiles, Fuzzy, found this out myself

I understand how you feel, but in real life, what we have to do is practice ignoring these people ourselves and not giving them free space in our heads. It's a luxury and privilege that we even have this capability on a forum to do it this way.

Consider it a way to practice coping skills to see their names and practice using your coping skills to not give them any space in your head. At least, that's what I do.

You can do it. Deep breaths.

What messes with me is someone who I have had on ignored keeps showing up on my own profile, I'm certain the person keeps coming back onto my profile rather than having looked at it a while ago cause other names drop off and come back, this name is there all the time, to the point I sometimes get convinced they are gathering information about me so they can find me in real life and either steal my girls (cats) off of me, or worse - as in pass the information onto the stalky scumturd of a ex of mine, he literally did cause problems previously cause he was part of the reason I had to move house, off topic now probably but if I ever see stalky scumturd again this side of hell it'll be too soon

I don't know if anyone is here intending harm to me (or Fuzzy) but I think it is a valid thing, not wanting to see particular names show up at all

I mean, for all I know, the member I'm referring to could actually BE stalky scumturd ex of mine, that idea is kinda hard to ignore when it takes up room in my head

But anyways, I understand how its upsetting for Fuzzy to see names she doesn't want to see, I react the same way when I see stalky scumturd ex's name

I don't think so either. I feel your pain, believe me. They show up on the forum index page, if their post is the most recent post in a thread. And the Christmas thread mercifully went away, after it also appeared in the forum index. It doesn't appear in the forum itself.

For me it's back to walking on a mine field, except now I don't know WHERE the mines are. Before, if I saw "______'s post is hidden because this member is on ignore", I was ready as I viewed a thread. Now they "jump out" at me or startle me, just like a mine would. Quoted ignored members are the worse.

Yeah, this was my rant. Ignore ought to be ignore period, completely invisible.

Ignore, delete, edit. Just had to support Fuzzybear, who is warm and fuzzy.

Just had a idea: would it be possible to have two levels of ignored?

First level being the milder version where we do see the name, for when we just need to not deal with that particular member for a short time, and the second level being a "this member is permenently triggering me, I need to not see any reference of them at all cause even seeing their name is enough to trigger me"

idk if thats even do-able?

I might be talking nonsense idk

I'm closing this thread as there's nothing to be done here about people visiting your profile page. I'd say you can just ignore your profile page by not visiting it, but I know for some people this is just not an option. Cheers.
